File System Shield - Scan when writing
Manage these settings at: Menu ▸ Settings (gear icon) ▸ Active Protection ▸ File System Shield ▸ Customize ▸ Scan when writing
Define which files and programs the File System Shield analyzes when they are saved or modified.
You can skip scanning file types which are typically safe to save time and improve performance. By default, only certain files are scanned when they are saved.
Options
You can specify which file types are scanned at the moment they are written, and in what situations:
- Scan files when writing - A file is scanned when it is saved to disk or when an application writes something to the disk.
- Scan files with default extensions - Only files with extensions considered potentially dangerous (e.g. .exe) are scanned.
- Scan files with custom extensions - Specify the file type extensions to scan.
- Scan all files - All files are scanned when they are created or modified. Scanning is slower but more thorough.
- Do not scan files on remote shares - Files on a shared network disk are not scanned.
- Do not scan files on removable media - Files on removable media like USB sticks are not scanned.
