Before trying to solve this problem, make sure to solve all other router problems detected by Avast. Otherwise the following fix will not be effective.
To configure Sagem/Sagemcom wireless router:
- From the Wi-Fi Security results screen, select Go to your router settings to open the administration page of your Sagem/Sagemcom router.
- Enter your router username and password, or contact the party who provided the router (e.g., your ISP).
- Go to
Advanced Setup ▸ DNS ▸ Dynamic DNS▸ ensure that there is no dynamic DNS entry, otherwise select the Removebutton for each one.
- or -
Advanced ▸ Advanced Network ▸ DDNS ▸ Dynamic DNS Setup▸ ensure that the Enable Dynamic DNSoption is unchecked.
- Go to
Advanced Setup ▸ WAN▸ select Editnext to your connection profile in the list (if you see more than one connection profile in the list, check each of them, one by one).
- or -
Setup ▸ Internet Setup▸ in the Connection listselect the corresponding editing icon next to your connection profile (if you see more than one connection profile in the list, check each of them, one by one).
- If your ISP supports automatic configuration
WAN IP Settingsto Obtain DNS servers automatically, or set Domain Name Server Assignmentto Autoin the DNS section.
- Ensure that all
DNS serverrecords are set to None(this applies also for static DNS records, if available in your router's LAN, DHCP or DNS Serversettings when a local DHCP Serveris Enabled).
If your ISP doesn't support automatic configuration (e.g. the option
Use the following DNS server addressesis enabled in WAN IP Settings, or Domain Name Server Assignmentis set to Manualin the DNSsection), fill in DNS serverfields with IP addresses of reliable DNS servers, such as Google Public DNS, as shown below:
Primary DNS: 22.214.171.124 Secondary DNS: 126.96.36.199
- Confirm your changes by selecting
Apply, or Save/Applyand reboot your router if necessary.
