Your wireless network password is weak!

Hackers can discover your Wi-Fi password to use the bandwidth and access your data and other devices in the network. Your personal data may be at risk.

To configure D-Link wireless router:


  1. From the Wi-Fi Inspector results screen, select Go to your router settings to open the administration page of your D-Link router.
  2. Enter your router username and password, or contact the party who provided the router (e.g., your ISP).
  3. Go to SetupWireless Settings ▸ select Manual Wireless Network Setup.
    - or -
    Go to SetupWireless Connection ▸ select Manual Wireless Connection Setup.
  4. For Wireless Security Mode select WPA2-Personal encryption, or Enable WPA2 Wireless Security (enhanced) (for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz settings on dual-band routers).
  5. For WPA Mode select WPA2 Only (for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz settings on dual-band routers).
    - or -
    For WPA2 Personal / Enterprise (PSK / EAP) select Personal (PSK) (for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz settings on dual-band routers).
  6. For WPA2 Cipher Type select AES, if available (for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz settings on dual-band routers).
  7. In the Pre-Shared/Network Key field, or the Phassphrase field, create a wireless password to encrypt your WiFi network (for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz settings on dual-band routers). If forgotten, you must change it here again.
  8. Confirm your changes by selecting Save settings and reboot your router if necessary.

To configure wireless network devices:


  1. Go to wireless settings for each of your devices connected to the router and view wireless networks within range.
  2. From the list of available wireless networks select the name (SSID) of your wireless network.
  3. When asked, enter the Wireless password (or Passphrase, Network/Pre-shared key, etc.) you specified for WPA2 encryption of your wireless router.
  4. If needed, confirm, to establish a wireless connection between your router and the device.
