Manage these settings at: Menu ▸ Settings (gear icon) ▸ Tools ▸ Data Shredder ▸ Customize ▸ Shred files

Data Shredder provides a secure way to fully erase sensitive information so that data cannot be restored.

Shred Files

This operation deletes files completely and securely. You can select which method to use:

• Random overwrite - This is the simplest and quickest method. You can specify more passes for more security.
• DOD (Department of Defense) - This is a more secure but slower method. The file is overwritten with several types of data.
• Gutmann method - This is the slowest, but the most secure method. It is not possible to recover the original data by any known means.
