Manage these settings from: MenuMy Subscriptions

The My Subscriptions screen summarizes your subscription information for Avast Antivirus, SecureLine VPN, and Cleanup Premium.

With Avast Antivirus installed, you can activate your subscription directly on the same PC during purchase in the Avast Store by clicking Activate subscription. Otherwise, if you install Avast Antivirus after purchase, you need to manually activate the subscription via your Avast Account registered for the email address you used to make the purchase, or using your valid activation code from the order confirmation email.

Note: You can also right-click on the Avast icon in the system tray and select Subscription information to open the My Subscriptions screen.

Activate via your Avast Acccount

All your Avast subscriptions automatically appear in the Avast Account registered with the same email address you used to make the purchase. To activate via your Avast Account:

  1. On the My Subscriptions screen, click Log in to your Avast Account.
    Note: If you do not have an Avast Account yet, first click Create an account to open the registration webform in your default internet browser, then enter your email address you used to make the purchase, create your password, and click Create new account. Alternatively, click Log in with Facebook or Log in with Google to register your Avast Account using your existing Facebook or Google credentials.
  2. Enter your Avast Account credentials and click Log in. Alternatively, click Log in with Facebook or Log in with Google to log into your Avast Account using your existing Facebook or Google credentials.
  3. Check your subscription details for the connected Avast Account. If you have any subscriptions for interchangeable products, you can click Switch to this subscription, or click Activate & Install. Then click the red X in the top-left corner to return to the main Avast user interface.

Your Avast subscription is now activated for the connected Avast Account. The expiration date of your subscription appears under Subscription on this PC.

Activate using your activation code

Your activation code is sent in an order confirmation email to the email address you provided during the purchase. To activate using your activation code:

  1. Open your order confirmation email and scroll down to the Activation code section to copy the activation code:
    • While holding the left mouse button, drag the cursor until the whole activation code is highlighted, then release the left mouse button.
    • Press the Ctrl and C keys simultaneously to copy the activation code, or alternatively right-click the highlighted activation code and select Copy from the context menu.
  2. On the My Subscriptions screen, click Enter a valid activation code.
  3. Paste the previously copied activation code into the text box and click Enter:
    • Click into the text box located under Enter activation code.
    • Press the Ctrl and V keys simultaneously to paste the activation code.
    • Click Enter.
  4. If you have a subscription for interchangeable products, click Switch to this subscription next to the listed item to replace the existing subscription with another on the current PC. Then click Switch to confirm.

Your Avast subscription is now activated for the entered activation code. The expiration date of your subscription appears under Subscription on this PC.

Activate using your licence file

You may have received a licence file in an old order confirmation email, or if you requested to have your subscription re-sent. To activate using your licence file:

  1. Open your order confirmation email, and save the attached licence file (License.avastlic, License.avastvpn, etc.) in a familiar location on your PC (by default, all files are saved to your Downloads folder).
  2. On the My Subscriptions screen in Avast Antivirus, click Enter a valid activation code.
  3. Click Use a licence file.
  4. Locate and select the previously saved licence file (License.avastlic, License.avastvpn, etc.), then click Open.
  5. If you have a subscription for interchangeable products, click Switch to this subscription next to the listed item to replace the existing subscription with another on the current PC. Then click Switch to confirm.

Your Avast subscription is now activated for the inserted file. The expiration date of your subscription appears under Subscription on this PC.

Activate your free subscription

Avast Free Antivirus can be used free of charge at home and for non-commercial use. It is no longer necessary to register your Avast Free Antivirus, as your initial free subscription automatically activates after installation. When your free subscription expires, you can let the program automatically re-subscribe itself.

Alternatively, you can manually activate your 1-year free subscription:

  1. On the My Subscriptions screen in Avast Free Antivirus, click Upgrade Now next to Avast Free Antivirus in the list located under Subscription on this PC.
  2. Click Select in the Avast Free Antivirus column.
  3. Click the X in the top-right corner of the upgrade screen that appears to return to the My Subscriptions screen.

Your Avast Free Antivirus subscription is now activated for one year. The expiration date of your subscription appears under Subscription on this PC.

Manage your subscriptions

All product subscriptions used on the current PC are listed under Subscription on this PC. Any unused subscriptions appear under Other available subscriptions.

  • If you have a free, trial, or expired product subscription, click Buy or Upgrade now next to the listed item to purchase and activate the product on the current PC.
  • If you have a subscription for a standalone product, click Activate & Install next to the listed item to use the product on the current PC. When prompted by the User Account Control dialog for permissions, click Yes, and wait for the setup to automatically install the product on your PC.
  • If you have a subscription for interchangeable products, click Switch to this subscription next to the listed item to replace the existing subscription with another on the current PC. Then click Switch to confirm.

Get a copy of your subscription

If you did not receive your purchased subscription or if you experience issues with activating your subscription, you can retrieve your subscription via our webform with the email address you used during purchase, or download it from your Avast Account registered to the same email address.

Manage Continuous Subscription

If you activated the Continuous Subscription service, your current subscription is automatically re-subscribed upon expiration. You are notified in advance via email.

You can manage the Continuous Subscription option for your order by contacting Avast Support directly, or by following the instructions in the relevant article according to the subscription distributor:

Transfer your subscription

If you need to transfer your subscription to a different PC:

  1. Uninstall Avast Antivirus from your previous PC using the Avast Uninstall Utility.
  2. In your internet browser, go to https://my.avast.com, enter your Avast Account credentials and click Log in. Alternatively, click Log in with Facebook or Log in with Google to log into your Avast Account using your existing Facebook or Google credentials.
    Note: If you do not have an Avast Account yet, first click Register in the top-right corner, then enter your email address you used to make the purchase, create your password, and click Create new account. Alternatively, click Log in with Facebook or Log in with Google to register your Avast Account using your existing Facebook or Google credentials.
  3. Go to Devices, and then click your previous PC name in the list to open the status screen.
  4. Click the Settings button.
  5. Click Delete From Account, and then click OK to confirm.
  6. On your next PC, download and install the Avast Antivirus product version related to your purchased subscription.
  7. Go to MenuMy Subscriptions in Avast Antivirus installed on your next PC, and activate the subscription.

Troubleshoot issues

If Avast Antivirus does not accept your activation code:

  1. Use our webform or your Avast Account to retrieve your subscription registered for the email address used to make the purchase, then activate the subscription again. Read more...
  2. If the subscription activation fails, uninstall Avast Antivirus using the Avast Uninstall Utility and restart your PC.
  3. Download and install the Avast Antivirus product version related to your purchased subscription.
  4. Go to MenuMy Subscriptions in Avast Antivirus, and activate the subscription.
