Rescue Disk

Access this feature at: Menu ▸ Tools ▸ Rescue Disk

Create a bootable version of the Avast scanner on a USB or CD. It can be booted without any OS running on a PC. It is especially useful to repair a PC hijacked by malware.

Creating a Rescue Disk

To create a Rescue Disk:

  1. Insert your removable media with at least 500 MB of free space.
  2. In the top right corner select the media type inserted - USB or CD.
  3. A confirmation appears when complete.
  4. Then you can eject the media device and it is ready to use.
